If you’re the type of mobile gamer who likes simple looking, easy to understand and yet challenging as heck games, then you probably will enjoy this latest from Ketchapp Arcade, who have seemingly developed the knack for these type of games. The description for the new Android game Sky says that you can “fly, jump, and clone yourself” as you try and beat your high score, which as you go along, you’ll realize is not that easy.
The basic gameplay for Sky is that you’re a square that is stuck in a maze of shapes. You need to go along a path, collect some bits along the way, and jump over some squares. One tap means jump, while a double tap means a double jump. Sounds simple enough, but as with other games like this, it rarely is that simple. The maze and paths keep changing, and sometimes the rules do too. There is also a green tent that clones your square, and so when you become two or three or more, then you’d have to also time the jumps of all your other clones.
There are different kinds of “characters” that you can unlock as you play the game, and each of them have various animated traits. There are 100 unique levels in this game, all procedurally generated. And if you want to show off your skills to your friends, you can do so by battling them with your score in the Game Center.
You can download Sky from the Google Play Store for free. There are also in-app purchases available which you may or may not need as you continue to play the game.
