If for one reason or another you’ve always had the urge to make a group call for around 200 people, then your wish is about to come true, if you have a LINE account that is. For the first time, you will now be allowed to make a group call, either for your family, for friends, or even for business purposes. And yes, this is all free and it is allowed for you to have up to 200 people in on a single call.
Initially, this new feature will only be available for mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. But eventually, it will also be expanding to Windows and Mac later on, so you get to have more options for making or participating in a group call. You might need to plan a vacation with your friends, have an informal conference call with colleagues scattered all over the world, or participate in that family reunion you can’t physically go to.
You can start the group call from inside a group chat and you just need to tap on the call icon and then the start button to make it happen. To join a call you’ve been invited to, just press on the Join icon when you receive a notification that someone has asked you to join that call. You will see all the other people on the call through their thumbnail images and to identify who’s talking at the moment, there is a small mark displayed on their picture.
This is a pretty nifty feature to have if you’re a heavy LINE user and if you have a need for group calls with a large number of people. There are a few other messaging apps that have this service like Skype, but LINE probably has the largest number of participants allowed. No need to download a separate app. All you need to do is update to the latest version and then you can use the group voice calls feature.
