Did you ever wish that you had a machine where you would feed in a piece of document and then when it comes out, the whole page has already been translated in the language you need it to be in? Well, we sort of have that now, thanks to the Xerox Translation Service. The printer service, compatible with several of the newer Xerox printers, scans the document and then quickly translates it before it prints out the document, retaining the format and layout of the original.
Of course you won’t get a perfect translation since what is being used is machine translation. But the basic purpose really is to quickly understand a specific document through an approximate translation in order to make use of it, either for work or school or personal purposes. But if you want a more precise and accurate one, the service also has a human translation service, but of course it will take a little bit more time and also comes with a subscription service of course.
But the quick translations will eventually get better over time as well, since there is a cloud-based glossary which companies can write in if the industry they work in deal with jargon to help both machine and humans understand and translate the documents more accurately. Also, aside from using the actual Xerox machine, you can use the app on your Android device and upload scanned documents and get them translated. Or you can also upload the documents for translation through the web app on your computer.
In the first 30 days after you register on the Xerox Translation Service, you get 30 pages translated for free. After that trial period, it will be $10 per 10 pages for machine translation, and 10 cents per word for the human translation. You can download the app from the Google Play Store for free.
